Winter Wonderland

It’s no secret…  I abhor Winter.  As if the plunging temperatures weren’t brutal enough, Chicago goes the extra mile and throws in 5 months of grey skies and intense wind.  It’s truly a delight.  If you like torture.  Regardless, I made the decision to move to this wonderful city and so I must deal with this detestable season of pale skin, bad fashion and pain.  (Is it obvious that I’m from Florida yet?)

I’m trying to stay dedicated to this hobby of photography, so I hid myself under a few (ten) layers and decided to brace the elements to get a few shots.  Don’t be fooled by the bright blue sky in a couple of these pictures.  It may have been sunny, but it was below 15 degrees.  The day I shot the snow sculptures was a more typical January day.

I loved your shot of the winter branches. I will show my fifth gradeers this picture to help them inspire a winter haiku.

    • Thank you, Sheila! I hope they are very inspired. Feel free to share some of the poetry with me, I’d love to see what they come up with!
